In the midst of active transformation, PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Jaktour) must face a new challenge that is no less formidable: the COVID-19 pandemic.
JAKARTA, PRINDONESIA.CO – As it’s already known, tourism and hospitality are the sectors that were hit hardest besides the health sector during the pandemic. A similar thing was felt by Jaktour, a regional-owned company under the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which is engaged in these two fields.
Even though it's not even a year, Novita Dewi has received a mandate from Anies Baswedan, the Governor of DKI Jakarta as the Managing Director of Jaktour. Her main task at that time was only one: to save a company that was about to sink. Yes, Jaktour has been losing money in the past four years. It’s not easy work. Moreover, the condition of the company at that time was not zero, but a minus.
According to her, before the pandemic, she and her staff had already drawn up a business rescue strategy. Even for short-term strategies, one by one has started to be implemented. The first strategy is to transform from Jaktour to the Jakarta Experience Board (JXB). To realize transformation, it needs improvements ranging from corporate governance, improving human resources (HR), to optimizing Jaktour's assets.
